Overview

The Northern Dolomites boasts some truly breathtaking mountain scenery and is an ideal winter playground, thanks to the broad range of activities available. Based in a beautiful, tranquil village, we enjoy traditional Tyrolean cuisine and a warm welcome from the Pircher family who have successfully run their luxury hotel for many years. With excellent transport links, we can try cross-country skiing and skating in one of the most famous centres in Italy, Dobbiaco, and experience the chic Italian town of Cortina D’Ampezzo. An exciting snowmobile excursion to the colourful jagged spires of the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo is a real highlight of the week and some may opt to get behind the driving seat in the afternoon (optional). This trip is an excellent opportunity to try a wide range of fun-packed activities and to see everything this fascinating area has to offer - all from the comfort of our luxurious hotel.

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Fly from Gatwick to Innsbruck; transfer to Villabassa (approx. 1hr 45 mins).
Day 2 - Transfer to Lago di Misurina for snowmobile excursion and short walk to Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Afternoon snowmobiling around beautiful Lago d'Antorno.
Day 3 - Cross-country skiing including a guided tour and afternoon curling on Lake Dobbiaco.
Day 4 - A day in the chic resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo with optional activities including downhill skiing, horse and sleigh ride or ice-skating.
Day 5 - Full day snowshoeing to Lago di Braies.
Day 6 - Free day. Options include self-guided snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing or visit Lienz Castle or Brunico.
Day 7 - Half-day cross-country ski instruction with emphasis on 'skate' technique; transfer to Croda Rossa for an exhilarating 5km toboggan ride!
Day 8 - Transfer to Innsbruck for flight to Gatwick.
