Guest Reviews of Como Shambhala Estate

Como Shambhala was wonderful. Spectacular venue, very friendly staff and outstanding attention to detail throughout. I must return soon

- Neil, - September 2016

I first stayed at this estate in 2004 and eleven years later I still remember how I enjoyed my stay like it was yesterday. The first impression surely lasts forever. COMO Shambala Estate is a resort like any other resort in the area. It feels like it has its own atmosphere and its own charms. You can immediately feel it the moment you step in. This is my third time staying at the estate and its excellent service with its attention to detail are really unmatch with any resort I have stayed before. The appointed butler will help you in anything you need. The healthy menu will offer you the freshest ingredients you've ever tasted. The stay at COMO Shambala Estate will not only relax your body, but also your mind.

My wife and I were staying at the sister property, Uma by Como, and decided to come by Como Shambhala for a visit and lunch. Boy are we glad we did!

Como Shambhala is immediately is just so beautiful, well appointed and the staff is highly trained and clearly service oriented. We were delighted to return for lunch down at the river and a day of relaxation. Makes us wish we had booked at Como Shambhala instead of Uma (which is a fine hotel, but not remotely comparable).

Thanks Como Shambhala for welcoming us back and we look forward to our next trip to Bali when we hope to stay there again!

This is a one of a kind resort with unmatched service and attention to details. We loved our stay here so much. The residence we stayed in was perfect. If feels like your own private home in Bali with a full time staf to keep it impecibley clean and meet your every need. The food, spa, grounds, service, pools, hikes and incredible natural beauty are not to be surpased and all in a magical and mystical location. This should not be a once in a lifetime experince because you will want to return long after you have departed, as I do. But, if you only have one opportunity to visit this should be that once in a lifetime destination in Indonesia.

Thanks to a system error during the reservation process with their sister resort, we were upgraded to this huge beautiful resort that I have always wanted to stay in. Stayed here for a total of 3 nights in their 2 bedroom private retreat pool villas. Their retreat villas are more modern than their reaidences. But having walked past their residences, they looked more local and unique but less private.

On arrival, we were greeted warmly and brought on a tour of the grounds of the estate and then to the villa for a in-villa check-in. Our personal assistant was already there waiting to check us in and with our welcome drink. He helped to ensure that all the activities we booked are arranged. He was also helpful to answer all our queries. And greet us at our breakfast and remind us of our schedules.

Really loved the huge infinity pool of the villa with jacuzzi jets and overlooking some rice terraces. Also loved the outdoor showers with the forest views.

The steam room in the villa was good for relaxation. However, the steam room couldn't be switched off after we used it and we and to get their maintence guy to come fix it. This is only the start of the many other breakdowns to come in our villa. Next the bathtub couldn't be drained. Then the front door lock couldn't work and had to be repaired twice. Lastly, the phone didn't work from the last night of our stay and our morning all was missed. However, they apparently came to knock on our doors but we didn't hear it. So I think the villa is in need of maintenance.

We had a massage at the Como Shambhala spa. The spa receptor was very friendly and helpful and tried to fulfill our requests for time and masseurs. The massage was good and relaxing. Well done!

Another activity worth joining is their Yoga class. We had the flow yoga class and the instructor was fantastic! She tried to cater to all the different guests' levels of proficiency. It's held in the Yoga Bale which overlooks the valley. The experience is sublime! Try it! One of the best part of the resort I like must be the natural spring water pools by the river. It's really scenic and quiet and refreshing to take a dip there. But be warned, u need to climb 200 steps down and then another 200 up again on the narrow steps. It's certainly worth it though. Another point to note is that you can have the choice of in-room breakfast without any extra charges.

All in all, I would recommend this lovely resort to anyone looking for a place to unwind and get away from it all in private.
