Angelina Diegues is the Spa Manager at EPIC Sana Algarve in Portugal, specialising in aesthetics and manual therapies. With years of health and well-being experience, Angelina is passionate about ensuring each guest feels cared for whilst providing a transformative experience. She has an impressive background, having studied Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Scientific Aromatherapy. Passionate about promoting quality of life, Angelina actively contributes to the education of new professionals through the Spa Management course.
My professional journey began in the world of sport – a passion that took me from instructor to health club director. I have always believed in the importance of taking care of the body as a path to inner balance. When spas began to gain prominence in Portugal in the early 2000s, I realised there was something deeper at play: an invitation to well-being, silence, and reconnecting with ourselves.
At EPIC Sana, I found the right challenge at the right time. A space where I can put into practice my vision of a spa that goes beyond luxury – a place where nature is felt, where natural light embraces us, and where the team gives its all with heart. I believe in the power of touch, the energy of the elements and the synergy that blends the holistic healing vision of the Orient with the modern treatment techniques of the Occident completely in line with the “East meets West” Sayanna philosophy. And it is here, in this balance between science, nature, and soul, that I find meaning and inspiration every day.
At the spa, every day is a new experience — between management, planning, customer service, and the continuous growth of our team. I often tell my team that, even in the most intense moments, what we need to convey to the customer is our joy and serenity. It is this energy that creates the warm and unique atmosphere everyone seeks when they visit us.
I love seeing the growth of my team and the satisfaction of people after they receive a service at the spa, whether it’s a massage, a fitness retreat, or a meditation session. For me, the most rewarding part is seeing how these moments of care and attention transform people's day. Personally, my purpose is to continue growing and developing constantly, so that I always feel energetic and ready for life.
I would honestly recommend all the wellness programmes, as each one has a specific purpose to achieve the desired results. From the yoga retreat to reshape, detox, reconnect, or the personalised à la carte, each is designed to provide a unique and transformative experience, tailored to the individual needs of each person.
Sport keeps my body active and strong, while my mind becomes calmer. Contact with nature, in turn, energises me and allows me to reconnect with myself, bringing a deep sense of balance and inner peace.
First and foremost, I deeply value human capital, the people, my team. I share with them the immense privilege of listening to what the body conveys during a massage, as if it were a silent conversation full of meaning. Respecting what others have to say is essential, as every human being carries a unique and precious story. I believe that, above all, it is crucial to respect and be grateful for the opportunity to, even if only for brief moments, walk together on the same transformative journey, where we all grow and connect in ways that only true care can offer.
