Location & Getting There:

While the resort feels wonderfully peaceful and immersed in nature, it’s easy to reach from several major transport hubs. The nearest airports are Verona (around a 2-hour drive), Milan Bergamo (approximately 2.5 hours), and Venice (around 3 hours), while Trento is the closest major railway station, with regular connections to the area.

If you’re driving, the scenic journey through the Dolomites is part of the experience, with winding mountain roads leading you into the heart of the Alps. I visited in late June, when the valleys were extremely vibrant, making it an ideal time to enjoy both the surrounding hiking trails and the resort’s outdoor wellness spaces. Lefay’s location also places guests just a short drive from Madonna di Campiglio, making it a great base for exploring the wider Dolomites throughout the year.

Accommodation:

Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti offers 88 spacious suites, each designed to create a seamless connection with the surrounding Alpine landscape. Natural wood, stone and gentle neutral shades made the suites feel both contemporary and quietly soothing, while floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light and frame the spectacular views.

Lefay Resort & Spa Dolomiti

I stayed in one of the resort’s beautiful suites, which felt both luxurious and incredibly relaxing. The room featured a comfortable lounge area, and the exceptional super king bed provided the perfect place to unwind after a day spent exploring the mountains or relaxing in the spa. The bathroom was just as incredible, with a deep soaking bathtub, and rainfall shower that further elevated the experience, creating a space that felt more like a private wellness sanctuary than a hotel room.

It’s the thoughtful design that truly sets the accommodation apart. Every suite features a private balcony or terrace, offering a secluded space to soak up the tranquillity of the surrounding mountains. I enjoyed starting my mornings here with a slow coffee or simply sitting back and taking in the breathtaking views, the outdoor space quickly became a wonderfully serene place, perfect for relaxing. The suites embrace the elegance that perfectly reflects Lefay’s philosophy of luxury rooted in wellbeing and nature.

The Wellness Programme:

I took part in the Active & Balance programme during my time at Lefay, which was excellent, and was thoughtfully curated from the start. The introduction from the experienced wellness team was warm and calm, carefully rooted in the landscape around you and nothing felt rushed or clinical. Then came the introduction to the Lefay SPA Method, and it carefully explained how energy, nature and movement come together throughout the programme. I then met with a personal trainer, who explored my goals with me and helped me think about what I truly wanted out of the experience.

The Red Pheonix activity day was the most energising day, all about building strength and pushing myself. The Vertical Nordic Walking trip was challenging in parts, but the climb was spectacular through the impressive Dolomite peaks. However, the Red Pheonix Massage complimented this perfectly, easing the intensity of the climb, and together with the sauna stretching, left me feeling totally rejuvenated.

The Black Tortoise activity day was the most restorative part of the programme, centred on slowing down and letting the body settle. The walk along the river path was a gentle, steady start and left me feeling grounded and calm. The Detox Path that followed deepened that sense of release, moving through the saltwater lake, the salt grotto relaxation and the scrub and mud therapy in a way that continued to feel cleansing. The day ended with the Black Tortoise energy massage, which used slow, grounding movements that softened any remaining tension. The massage and herbal tea brought the whole day together leaving me feeling deeply restored.

The final meeting brought the whole programme together. It summed up my experience perfectly, and I left feeling that my goals had genuinely been met.

Spa & Wellness:

Lefay Resort & Spa Dolomiti

The 5,000m2 spa at Lefay Dolomiti feels like the heart of the whole experience. It’s calm, beautifully designed, and has a quiet atmosphere that makes you slow down the moment you walk in. Consisting of five different areas, the spa is arranged so that every zone encourages a specific kind of calm, making it easy to settle into whatever your body needs. The thermal areas are spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with warm pools, steam rooms and relaxation spaces that encourage you to move at your own pace. The highlight is the indoor–outdoor pool, where the shift from the quiet indoor space to the open mountain views feels effortlessly soothing.

The treatment rooms are peaceful and feel genuinely private, which makes the energy massages even more effective. Each therapist I met was warm, attentive and trained in the Lefay SPA Method, and explained how the treatments work.

Fitness & Activities:

The fitness and activities programme at Lefay Dolomiti feels thoughtful and wellpaced, moving from energising outdoor sessions to slower, more restorative moments. Each day has its own theme, which makes the experience feel structured without ever feeling rigid. The energy based activities blend movement with intention, creating a sense of balance that carries through the whole programme. By the end of my stay, the mix of outdoor exercise, grounding treatments and calm recovery sessions left me with a steady sense of strength and clarity.

Food & Dining:

I found the food and dining experience at Lefay Dolomiti thoughtful, balanced and quietly indulgent. The dishes felt nourishing without ever feeling restrictive, and the cooking leaned into fresh, seasonal produce and clean flavours that supported the rhythm of the programme. Dinner was a particular highlight, as the menu blends local herbs and seasonal ingredients that felt both comforting and refined.

Grual, the resort’s Michelin starred restaurant offers something completely different. Its menu is inspired by the vertical ascent of a mountain, focusing entirely on local, organic Trentino producers. The experience feels intentional and rooted in place, and it adds a beautifully elevated layer to the stay.

Service:

I found the service at Lefay Dolomiti consistently warm, attentive and quietly reassuring. Every member of the team I met was genuinely kind, and the therapists were especially thoughtful, taking time to explain each treatment and making sure I understood how it connected to the wider programme. The staff in the restaurant were just as considerate, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, the service added a layer of comfort to the week, making me feel supported throughout my stay.

What I Loved Most:

What I loved most about my week at Lefay Dolomiti was how naturally everything came together. The themed activity days made the programme feel intentional, and each one shifted my energy in a different way. The outdoor sessions were a real highlight and seeing the mountain paths open to the spectacular views was just incredible! The treatments were just as memorable, with the energy work adding a deeper layer that stayed with me long after each session ended.

I also loved the atmosphere of the spa, especially the indoor–outdoor pool and the quiet thermal areas, it’s one of the best spas I’ve experienced. The food was thoughtful and comforting, and the service added a gentle sense of ease to the whole stay. More than anything, I appreciated how balanced the week felt, there was a great mix of movement, stillness, nourishment and rest that left me feeling clearer, stronger and genuinely restored.

Who It’s Best For:

I think this programme is best suited to people who genuinely want a thoughtful, structured wellness experience. It’s ideal for wellness seekers who appreciate a balance of movement and rest, and for nature lovers who want to experience the Dolomites in a calm, grounding way. It’s also perfect for spa enthusiasts who enjoy thermal areas, energy based treatments and beautifully designed relaxation spaces. Foodfocused travellers will love the seasonal, nourishing menus, and the option of Michelinstarred dining, while anyone in need of a genuine reset will find the week deeply restorative. I’d also recommend it to solo travellers, as the structure and atmosphere make it feel safe, supportive and easy to navigate alone.

My Final Verdict:

Overall, my week at Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti felt like a genuinely restorative escape. The programme was thoughtful and wellpaced, the treatments were grounding, and the setting in the Dolomites added a sense of calm that stayed with me throughout the stay. I loved how naturally everything flowed, from the outdoor activities to the spa rituals and the nourishing meals. The service was warm and reassuring, and the whole experience felt intentional.
